About the Item

Infinity Bridge is a contemporary acrylic painting that reinterprets the bridge at Stockton-on-Tees through colourful construction toys. Curved elements, small supports and horizontal sections turn the engineering motif into a playful arrangement of simple forms. The painted blocks have a tangible, model-like presence, while the lightly drawn surroundings suggest an urban setting still taking shape. Saturated colours direct attention to the central structure and distinguish its individual components. The horizontal format gives the bridge room to unfold across the picture, creating a dialogue between a recognisable architectural subject and the freedom of an improvised construction. The work belongs to Procesos (Processes), María Magán Lampón’s exploration of play, construction and the spaces people imagine. Children’s building toys provide a visual vocabulary of simple shapes that can be assembled into houses, bridges and architectural models. The contrast between carefully painted blocks and lightly drawn surroundings leaves the scene open and provisional, as if the structure could be dismantled and rebuilt. Developed through the artist’s experience of motherhood, the series connects everyday observation with a wider reflection on how environments take shape. María Magán Lampón is a Galician visual artist whose practice spans painting, textiles and objects. She holds a doctorate in Fine Arts from the University of Vigo. Her work connects material experimentation with everyday experience, using familiar forms to invite new ways of looking. Acrylic on canvas, 2026. Unique original work. This masterful original artwork comes with a minimalist frame and would make a great addition to an art collection, enhancing most any home, and perfect for those who have an affinity for abstracts, contemporary paintings, and color-rich works of art.
