About the Item

“Butterfly Madness” is an original 2026 painting by contemporary artist Serg Graff, bursting with color, humor, movement, and an extraordinary collection of imaginary characters. The composition is built from a dense crowd of whimsical creatures, distorted faces, eyes, animals, organic forms, and playful symbols that overlap and merge into one another. Brilliant orange, green, turquoise, pink, purple, yellow, and red are defined by energetic black contours, while metallic and shimmering passages add another dimension to the surface. There is no single focal point—the eye continually moves through the composition, discovering new characters and unexpected details. The title “Butterfly Madness” perfectly reflects Graff’s approach to the work: apparent disorder becomes a carefully interconnected visual world. Playful and slightly surreal, the painting combines elements of naïve art, contemporary expressionism, pop imagery, and spontaneous drawing while retaining the artist’s distinctive visual language. Presented in an elaborate gold-tone frame whose traditional ornamental character creates a striking contrast with the exuberant contemporary painting. 📜 Certificate of Authenticity: Personally issued and hand-signed by Serg Graff. 📏 Measurements: Painting 10" × 8"; Framed 15.5" × 13.5". 🎨 Artist: Serg Graff. ✍️ Signature: Signed on the front; titled, signed, and dated 2026 on verso. 🩺 Condition: Excellent condition. 📦 Shipping: Same-day safe packaging from Florida with tracking. About the Artist Serg Graff is a contemporary artist whose work is distinguished by a distinctive visual language combining naïve primitivism, expressionism, unconventional figuration, vivid color, spontaneous line, and layered symbolism. Rather than pursuing conventional realism, Graff transforms recognizable and imaginary subjects through exaggerated forms, expressive characters, unexpected juxtapositions, and densely constructed compositions. Faces, creatures, symbols, fragments of figures, decorative elements, and small narrative details frequently coexist within a single work, inviting the viewer to discover new imagery with repeated viewing. Color and surface are central to Graff’s artistic language. Bright, often contrasting colors are combined with bold outlines, layered paint, metallic passages, splattered accents, and dimensional details. His compositions frequently balance humor and visual spontaneity with a deeper sense of fantasy, memory, symbolism, and contemporary culture. The result is an immediately recognizable body of work that exists between abstraction and figuration—energetic, playful, richly layered, and intentionally resistant to a single interpretation. Collector’s Note Despite its intimate 10" × 8" format, “Butterfly Madness” contains an exceptionally dense visual world. Dozens of forms appear to emerge, disappear, and transform across the surface, making the painting especially rewarding at close range. The ornate traditional frame heightens the contrast between classical presentation and Graff’s irreverent contemporary imagery. Please Note Colors may vary slightly due to lighting, camera quality, and screen settings. We sell vintage and antique items, which may show signs of age such as craquelure, patina, scuffs, or retouching. These characteristics add authenticity and historical value to the artwork. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
