About the Item

The surrealist painting is written in the style of abstract expressionism (with bright elements of neo-expressionism) and has a complex, multi-layered structure. The author balances on the border between pure abstraction and figurative art, where human features are deliberately deformed to enhance emotional tension. In the center of the canvas, a large, massive abstract face (anthropomorphic mask) is clearly visible. His nose is highlighted in a rich terracotta-red color, and the eyes and lips are outlined with rough dark contours. If you look closely at the details around, the painting turns into a kaleidoscope: in the chaotic lines on the sides and bottom, other, smaller faces, silhouettes of creatures and deformed figures “hide”, which creates the effect of images from the subconscious. The color scheme is based on the contrast between the cold background and warm, earthy accents. Deep shades of brown, burgundy, ochre and coal black are used to create the figures. They stand out sharply against the pale turquoise, gray-blue and olive-green background. Red flashes add inner anxiety and dynamics to the composition. Thick black and dark contours do not simply outline the forms, but intertwine into a complex labyrinth, forcing the viewer's eye to constantly wander the canvas in search of new encrypted images. The painting conveys a sense of inner chaos, a search for identity and mysticism. This approach is typical of the concept, where faces appear spontaneously during unconscious drawing of lines (the so-called "controlled chaos" or psychological automatism). The work does not try to depict the real world, but conveys pure emotion, reflection and immersion in subconscious fears or dreams.
