This double-page offset lithograph, printed on pages 20 and 21 of Derrière le Miroir (DLM) No. 182, features a fold line down the center, as originally issued. The artwork depicts a whimsical scene on a blue background, with a striking image on the left of a half rooster, half Bella, Chagall’s beloved wife and muse. On the right, a vibrant and colorful bouquet floats above the city of Paris, creating a dreamlike, poetic atmosphere that blends Chagall’s personal symbolism with his signature use of bold, vivid colors.
