About the Item

A round travertine bowl, dating from the 1970s, exemplifies the elegant and natural aesthetic typical of that era's design. The bowl is made of travertine, a form of limestone deposited by mineral springs, especially hot springs. The material is characterized by its porous texture and natural beige colour, which gives the bowl a rustic yet sophisticated look. The bowl has a low, wide profile with a gently curved, shallow basin. The smooth, rounded edges contribute to its minimalist and timeless design. The bowl has a smooth, rounded shape with a shallow depth, making it suitable as a decorative piece or for holding small items. The interior of the bowl features concentric circular ridges, adding a touch of geometric design to its otherwise simple form. The surface of the bowl features the characteristic pits and holes of travertine, which add depth and texture to its appearance. These natural imperfections are part of what makes travertine a sought-after material in design and architecture. The bowl is a warm beige colour, typical of travertine, with subtle variations in tone that highlight the natural beauty of the stone. This bowl is versatile and can be used as a decorative centrepiece, a functional piece for holding fruit or other items, or even as a catchall dish for keys and small accessories. The neutral colour and natural texture make it suitable for a variety of interior styles, from modern and minimalist to rustic and traditional. This travertine bowl embodies the simplicity and elegance of 1970s design, making it a timeless addition to any home decor The natural material and understated design allow it to blend seamlessly with a wide range of aesthetics, providing both beauty and functionality.
