Crafted in the United States during the height of the 1920s tobacciana boom, this exquisite tabletop humidor stands as a premier example of early 20th-century craftsmanship, a golden era when fine wood humidors became essential status symbols for the discerning smoker. The exterior showcases a warm, rich wood that retains its structural integrity, though it bears a dignified character earned through nearly a century of history. It shows general age-appropriate wear to the corners and exterior surfaces, alongside a clean, structurally sound interior and a cracked wood bottom that does not compromise its sturdy build. Prominently centered on the top lid is the original metal monogram plate, which remarkably remains completely unengraved, offering a rare opportunity for the next owner to personalize this historic heirloom and make it truly theirs. While the original key is missing, the heavy-duty brass hinges function flawlessly, allowing the lid to open smoothly and reveal a remarkably clean, historically significant interior. Inside, the humidor features a pristine milk glass lining, a luxury appointment manufactured between the 1890s and 1920s that was highly prized for being completely odorless and non-porous, ensuring that no outside flavors or wood oils contaminated the aging tobacco. Nestled within this glass vault is its original, removable metal moisture block, complete with a perforated screen that bears an authentic patina and minor pitting. This ingenious antique humidification...
