About the Item

A harmonious ensemble of three antique pewter baluster candlesticks, dating to the 18th and early 19th century, circa 1760–1820. Ranging in height from 17 cm to 23 cm, this hand-cast metalware grouping forms a curated composition that excels through subtle variations in form and surface texture. The set comprises two traditionally turned late 18th-century baluster shafts alongside an early 19th-century transitional specimen intricately adorned with incised geometric bands. Each piece rests on a stable, domed stepped circular base and features a completely hollowed underbase, perfectly showcasing the early workshop casting methods and the genuine age of the alloy. The ensemble remains in a remarkably vital and fully intact antique condition. The pewter surfaces display a spectacular, untouched silver-gray patina with a rich, matte historic luster that fully preserves the original workshop lathe marks. Gentle, honest wear from domestic use and light oxidation on the hollow interiors provide transparent indicators that verify their extensive heritage. Relying on its organic variation in height and understated, tactile metal texture, this trio functions as a compelling sculptural centerpiece that instantly adds depth and historical character to a high-end interior.
