About the Item

A large blue and white porcelain ginger jar decorated with continuous Chinoiserie landscapes of pagodas, garden pavilions, trees, distant hills, and small boats. The cobalt decoration is balanced by geometric and floral borders at the neck and base, while the domed lid is finished with a deep blue flame-form finial. At 26 inches high, the jar has the scale to anchor a console, fill the corner of a drawing room, or stand beside a fireplace without disappearing among larger furnishings. It would be equally persuasive in a Palm Beach entry hall, a Hamptons living room, or an English country interior layered with mahogany, linen, and collected porcelain. Dimensions: 12ʺ W × 12ʺ D × 26ʺ H Materials: Glazed porcelain Style/Era: Chinoiserie, English Country, early 21st century Condition: Excellent condition Notable Features: Monumental scale, fitted lid, cobalt flame finial, and panoramic pagoda landscapes
