About the Item

Soliflore vase designed by Toni Cordero for Del Campo, Italy, circa 1990. This sculptural soliflore exemplifies Toni Cordero's exploration of form, colour and craftsmanship during his long collaboration with Del Campo. The piece features a slender stainless steel structure supporting a conical vessel crafted in high-fire enamelled copper, finished in a rich cobalt blue with subtle tonal variations that reveal the depth and luminosity characteristic of Del Campo enamelling techniques. A suspended red crystal drop provides a delicate chromatic counterpoint while introducing a subtle kinetic element to the composition. The dialogue between the linear metal support and the vibrant enamelled vessel reflects Cordero's ability to combine architectural precision with expressive decorative elements. Conceived as both a functional vase and a sculptural object, the design transforms a simple soliflore into an elegant composition of balance, colour and light. Produced in Italy around 1990, this piece represents the exceptional quality of Del Campo's high-fire enamel on copper, a technique for which the Turin workshop became internationally recognized through collaborations with leading Italian designers and architects.
