About the Item

Elegant Italian sterling silver cream jug or small serving pitcher executed in a richly sculptural Rococo-inspired form. The vessel features a bulbous fluted body rising to a dramatic asymmetrical scalloped rim with pronounced pouring lip, supported on three ornate scrolling feet. A finely cast foliate scroll handle complements the fluid movement of the body, creating a dynamic and decorative silhouette. The hand-worked repoussé-style fluting and highly polished finish reflect traditional Italian silversmithing craftsmanship, while the expressive curves evoke Baroque and Rococo design influences. A retailer’s label for P.E. Gallota e Figlio, Via dei Mille 16, Napoli remains affixed to the underside, indicating Neapolitan provenance. Good vintage condition with surface scratches, tarnish, oxidation, and areas of discoloration consistent with age and use. Verdigris and oxidation visible around the joins of the feet and handle. Retail label partially intact.
