Attributed to Philips, this Dutch Mid-Century flush mount chandelier dates to the 1950s and combines six curved brass arms with conical teak socket fittings, all radiating from a solid cylindrical teak canopy. Each arm carries a downward-facing drum shade in Philips patterned milk glass, featuring the manufacturer's distinctive swirling stripe surface, an opaline glass pattern well recognized in postwar Dutch lighting production. Philips was among the largest and most design-forward lighting producers in mid-20th century Europe, and their Netherlands-produced residential fixtures from the 1950s are notable for combining industrial materials with warm natural accents. The teak-and-brass pairing here reflects the broader influence of Scandinavian material sensibility on Dutch postwar design, a crossover common in premium Dutch production of this period.
