About the Item

This elegant midcentury flush mount ceiling light by Erco, crafted in the 1960s, is a refined example of German modernist lighting design. The fixture features a beautifully balanced circular composition, combining a warm brass frame with a softly diffused plastic shade at its center. The brass surround is detailed with a subtle perforated mesh pattern, adding texture and visual depth while maintaining the clean, geometric clarity characteristic of the midcentury aesthetic. The central plastic diffuser emits a warm, even glow, creating a pleasant ambient light that enhances the atmosphere of any room. The harmonious contrast between the structured metal frame and the smooth, luminous surface of the shade reflects the era’s focus on functional elegance and material innovation. Designed and produced by Erco during a period of forward-thinking design in post-war Germany, this flush mount embodies quality craftsmanship and timeless style. Ideal for hallways, living spaces, or bedrooms, it integrates seamlessly into both vintage-inspired and contemporary interiors. With its authentic 1960s character and understated sophistication, this Erco ceiling light is both a functional lighting solution and a distinctive design statement. The light requires two E14 light bulbs. Works with US and European electrics (110/120/230V). Good vintage condition. Free worldwide express shipping.
