About the Item

In this listing you will find a rare and highly decorative six-light flush mount by Rupert Nikoll, Vienna, dating to the 1950s. Executed in brass, the fixture embodies the playful sophistication of Austrian mid-century lighting design, with six elegantly curved arms radiating from a central canopy and terminating in stylized torch- or comet-shaped shades. Each perforated brass shade features a constellation of geometric cut-outs that cast a delicate, atmospheric glow when illuminated, while exposed flame-tip bulbs subtly extend beyond the shades, enhancing the piece's celestial character. The organic arrangement of the arms creates a dynamic composition reminiscent of a starburst or flowering branch, making the fixture an eye-catching focal point whether mounted on a wall or ceiling. Founded in Vienna in 1908, Rupert Nikoll became renowned for producing some of Austria's finest modern lighting, collaborating with leading designers and developing fixtures distinguished by their elegant proportions and exceptional craftsmanship. This example perfectly captures the company's post-war aesthetic, balancing sculptural form with a sense of lightness and whimsy. Retaining its original brass finish with a beautiful age-related patina, the fixture offers both functional illumination and significant decorative presence. When purchased the light will be carefully wrapped up and packed in a way to avoid any damages in transport. As soon as shipped you will receive the tracking number for your package.
