About the Item

A striking sculptural table lamp by Laurel Lamp Company, dating to the 1970s and exemplifying the bold aesthetics of American Brutalism. The cast brass body features a dynamic interplay of polished and chiseled surfaces, forming an abstract, organic silhouette that evokes the influence of modernist sculpture. Set atop a warm solid walnut base, the lamp presents a compelling contrast of refined materials and primal texture, a characteristic hallmark of Laurel's more adventurous studio designs. The form is reminiscent of the work of Paul Evans, Silas Seandel, and other practitioners of mid-century brutalist design, offering both illumination and visual drama. *We tested the lamp and it is in working order. This vintage table lamp functions as a sculptural centerpiece as much as a source of light. Whether styled on a credenza, bedside table, or as part of a mixed-material console vignette, it brings a layered richness to interiors rooted in mid-century modern, California modern, or eclectic collector aesthetics. The rich patina of the brass and the bold, architectural presence make it a versatile fit for spaces inspired by wabi-sabi, Japandi, or even postmodern interiors seeking a touch of 1970s artistic flair. Highly collectible and increasingly rare, Laurel lamps of this caliber are sought after by collectors and designers alike. This piece is ideal for those curating a space with vintage brutalist lighting, sculptural design objects, or period American studio craft. Fully tested and working, it’s ready to elevate any interior with a touch of moody elegance and artisan craftsmanship. MEASUREMENTS: H 35.75" x W 8" x D 7" Cord is 64" long CONDITION: Very good vintage condition with light patina and light age wear. Lamp was tested and is in working condition.
