Vintage Chinese Chippendale Rattan Chair

Crafted in China during the 20th century, this vintage Chinese Chippendale armchair beautifully merges Eastern organic materials with classic Western cabinetmaking design. Constructed from sturdy natural bamboo poles, the frame features an intricate geometric fretwork backrest paired with subtly flared armrests and a woven, slatted seat. Traditional wrapped rattan lashing reinforces each joint while introducing an authentic, hand-bound texture. The natural bamboo finish has aged to a warm golden-honey tone, showcasing rich visual character throughout the grain. An elegant addition to any home, this versatile accent chair works effortlessly as a living room feature seat, a desk chair, a sunroom piece, or a head-of-table dining chair. It pairs seamlessly with Chinoiserie, Chinese Chippendale, Tropical, Coastal, Hollywood Regency, and Bohemian interiors. To preserve the finish, clean regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth or duster. Measuring 21.25" W x 16.5" D x 36" H, it is in very good vintage condition, exhibiting gentle surface wear and light fading consistent with age while maintaining solid structural stability.
