An Exceptional Victorian Chesterfield Sofa with Impressive Proportions This is such a beautiful sofa, a truly rare example that has been constructed and traditionally upholstered to the highest quality. It has a hardwood frame, turned eb-onized legs and brass casters. The newly upholstered fabric is a sage green, Irish linen (if you would like a sample, do contact us). In the restoration, all the original horsehair and sheep’s wool was retained, honouring this wonderful sofa’s heritage. It’s a generously deep-seated example and with the tailored seat is wonderfully comfortable to sit or lie on. We acquired the sofa from Harley Street, London where it had spent all its life up until that point. This is a rare opportunity to own and enjoy a remarkable Victorian Chesterfield sofa. Good luck! We specialise in original, French, leather club chairs. Even though our stock is quite consistent, finding original club chairs in a very good, original condition is a constant challenge. With our partners in France, we are always on the lookout and our chairs can be found anywhere from a local brocante to a chateau sale, from the north to the south of France. In our experience, nearly all the chairs will need attention to the springs, after all they're not just objects of beauty, they are to be used.
