About the Item

This architecturally exceptional sofa in the distinct Art Deco style dates from the 1920s in Bohemia. The primary visual concept of this solitary piece of furniture stems from modernist principles of elegance, refined shapes, and the harmonious integration of craft tradition with the emerging interwar avant-garde. The architectural design of the entire seating system is built upon a robust and precisely shaped structure combining walnut and beech, while smoothly bent elements and a curved backrest with a decorative feature give the sofa a dynamic expression and high comfort. The dominant feature is light-colored upholstery, which in combination with the dark wood grain creates a captivating visual contrast and timeless decorative rhythm. This item has undergone a complete, highly professional, and sensitive restoration combined with thorough professional cleaning and the revitalization of the original polish. Experienced restorers have thus successfully restored one hundred percent functionality and maximum aesthetic appeal while preserving absolute historical authenticity, subtle patina, and the immensely high collector's value of this unique piece. Thanks to its renowned historical origin, top-tier craftsmanship, and utterly timeless design, this sofa serves as a highly prestigious and fully functional element in a modern interior. It stands out perfectly in a representative living room, a luxury designer study, or as a breathtaking design solitaire in an open space emphasizing top-tier interwar design.
