French Primitive Three-Legged Stool, Solid Wood, Turned Legs, 1950s. This rustic stool is built from a thick slab of solid wood forming a free-edge seat with an adzed, ribbed surface that follows the natural contour of the timber. The three turned legs splay outward from the underside, each shaped with ringed collars that give the stool a grounded, sculptural stance. The organic seat profile contrasts with the disciplined turning of the legs, producing a primitive silhouette rooted in French country craft. The warm tone of the wood and the worked top surface give this stool a handmade, artisanal presence. A compact solid wood stool suited to use as a seat, plant stand, or occasional side surface. Good vintage condition. Minor surface marks, splits, and wear consistent with age and use.
