About the Item

A fine George III style serpentine chest of drawers in richly figured mahogany, of elegant and balanced proportions. The bowed front is veneered in beautifully figured, bookmatched mahogany, creating a rich flame pattern across the drawer fronts, while the shaped top follows the serpentine line to enhance the refined profile. The configuration comprises a single long top drawer, beneath which are two short drawers, followed by three graduated long drawers below. Each drawer retains brass swan-neck handles with decorative backplates and traditional key escutcheons, complementing the warm tone of the polished timber. A pull-out brushing slide is discreetly incorporated below the upper drawer tier, providing a practical additional surface. The chest stands on shaped bracket feet and features a subtle scalloped apron that echoes the curvature of the façade. Oak-lined drawers and solid traditional construction reflect quality cabinetmaking throughout. Dimensions Height 40 Inches Width 34 Inches Depth 21 Inches
