About the Item

An elegant mid-19th century Neapolitan chest of drawers, crafted in richly figured walnut and adorned with fine veneer work and intricate inlay. Exemplifying the refined cabinetmaking traditions of Naples, the chest combines graceful proportions with sophisticated decorative detail, reflecting the city's long-standing reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and artistic excellence. The façade is articulated by three generously proportioned drawers, each embellished with carefully executed marquetry and framed by warm walnut veneers that showcase the natural beauty of the wood grain. Original gilded metal hardware provides a striking contrast to the richly toned surfaces, adding both visual richness and a touch of grandeur characteristic of Italian decorative arts of the period.
