About the Item

French Bamboo and Rattan Bar with Green Leather Top, 1950s. This vintage bar is built from light bamboo and rattan, with a long rounded top covered in green leather and finished with a red interior. The elongated oval silhouette gives the bar an architectural presence, carried on a woven rattan base with bound joints. Lashed rattan wrapping reinforces the structure and frames the piece throughout, a construction detail typical of postwar French rattan furniture. The set includes bamboo and rattan stools with green leather seats that echo the bar top. This bamboo and rattan bar combines natural woven materials with a curved leather surface in a cohesive vintage composition. Good vintage condition. Minor surface marks, scratches and wear to the leather top consistent with age and use.
