About the Item

Beautifully hand-turned and handcrafted in solid Ash, this side table is a sculptural study in form, texture, and material. Designed and made by our craftsman in England, the piece explores the expressive traditional turning techniques with bold contemporary design. The circular top features a refined ripple turned underside, introducing movement and shadow play that subtly changes with light and viewpoint. This detailing is echoed in the base which reflects the series of concentric turned circles, creating a harmonious architectural symmetry. The natural grain enhances the contrast, the English Ash retains its organic character, revealing subtle traces of texture within the wood. The piece is completed with a highly durable Osmo oil finish, providing a resilient surface while preserving a soft, tactile quality. A balance of sculpture and utility, the design works equally well as a side table, accent piece, or standalone object within both contemporary and traditional interiors. We design and produce bold and distinctive furniture with a focus on combining unique design with the inherent beauty and structural qualities of exceptional natural materials. Timber is carefully selected for its specific characteristics, ensuring that grain, tone, and stability all contribute to the final design piece. By embracing the natural features of these materials through precise craftsmanship and contemporary form, we create tactile, idiosyncratic pieces with lasting presence and individuality. Each piece is entirely handmade in very small numbers by our skilled craftspeople in England, ensuring a level of detail and refinement that reflects true mastery of the craft.
