EMAIRO
EMAIRO investigates marble as a structural, architectural and temporal material, exploring the tension between geological permanence and human transience. Derived from the Ancient Greek μαρμαίρω "to illuminate" - EMAIRO views marble as a vessel of light, memory and permanence. Each piece is handcrafted in Greece in collaboration with skilled artisans using carefully sourced stone whose geological identity remains visible and celebrated. Every vein, texture and formation reflects millions of years of natural history, making no two pieces alike. Guided by a philosophy of mindful creation, EMAIRO works primarily on a made-to-order basis, minimising excess while honouring the integrity of its materials. Even fractured marble is given new life, embracing a circular approach where every fragment retains value. Balancing ancient craftsmanship with a contemporary architectural language, EMAIRO creates furniture and objects that transcend trends. Tables become anchors within a space; sculptural forms carry both physical and emotional weight. Each work is designed not only to endure, but to be lived with—passing from one home to the next, and from one generation to another.
