About the Item
A set of two carved and polychromed cherub heads, likely originally intended as architectural or ornamental decorative elements. Each piece features delicate sculptural work on the childlike face, with soft expressions and hand-modeled features, retaining traces of the original polychromy in shades of red, green, blue, and gold.
The cherubs are framed by a circular, also polychromed, molding, which enhances their decorative character and suggests their potential use as appliqués, wall reliefs, or as part of an altarpiece or antique piece of furniture. The patina and natural wear lend authenticity and historical charm. Ideal for collectors of sacred art, classical decor, or as unique wall pieces.
