About the Item

A very fine 18 karat rose and yellow gold French, hinged bangle with a 1.20ct cabochon emerald, dating to the late 19th century. The piece is entirely handmade and features a beautifully pierced and engraved band which has to the centre a round medallion, housing a round cabochon cut emerald. The piece has a concealed tongue and box clasp which has four very tiny French marks. One mark appears to be the French purity mark while the others are unfortunately indecipherable however likely makers marks. A gorgeous and original piece of French 19th century jewellery in very fine condition for an item crafted so finely. Marked - French gold purity mark & unidentified makers mark both to clasp tongue, with an additional '14k' stamped likely for the gold used in previous repairs. Monogram to inside - 'M.De.F.' Total weight of piece - 21.97 grams Internal diameter - 5.75cm at widest
