Vintage Silver Multi Chain Leather Statement Necklace Paris 2008 J DAUPHIN Designer: J DAUPHIN J DAUPHIN multi-chain statement necklace handmade in Paris in 2008 in silver-plated brass and black lambskin leather. A one-of-a-kind piece, the necklace combines multiple styles and gauges of silver-tone chain around a sculptural central metal sphere, creating a dramatic layered composition across the chest. The construction incorporates curb, snake, braided, fine-link and segmented tubular chains, suspended at different lengths to create a fluid multi-tiered drape. Variations in chain texture, scale and tone give the necklace depth and movement while maintaining a predominantly monochromatic silver finish. A polished metal sphere anchors the composition at the center, while a black lambskin leather cord passes through the upper structure to form the wearing element. The contrast between soft black leather and substantial metal chain gives the necklace both flexibility and architectural presence. The sphere, a form without beginning or end, references wholeness and continuity. Surrounding it, the interconnected chains create a symbolic language of connection and strength, transforming the layered construction into more than a purely decorative element. Handmade in Paris in 2008, this one-of-a-kind necklace reflects J DAUPHIN's early exploration of chains, leather and industrial hardware, combining traditional jewelry materials with the scale and construction of a sculptural statement piece. It remains unworn. J DAUPHIN was founded in 2006 by Swedish-French designer Johanna Dauphin, who began her career at FENDI and TOD’S in Italy. Her work has developed across Paris, New York and Los Angeles, combining French and Italian savoir-faire with a distinctive rock-and-roll sensibility. J DAUPHIN has been featured in Vogue, W Magazine, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Marie Claire and carried internationally by Bergdorf Goodman, Le Bon Marché, Matches, Lane Crawford, Harvey Nichols, United Arrows and Isetan.
