Lucy du Sautoy's paintings are created from a spirit of daydreaming and distraction. Her subjects often engage the generic and commonplace and capture the in-between spaces of our everyday lives. She aims to take the viewer to a place with which they feel familiar yet know they have never been - to create personal space for misty reminiscences and mused futures – to conjure a daydream. Lucy regularly exhibits in group and solo shows. Sautoy is frequently commissioned and her work is held in private and corporate collections across the UK, and Europe and the US. She graduated in 2015, with a first-class Diploma in Fine Art from the Art Academy, London. Sautoy has exhibited widely across the UK, including the Affordable Art Fairs at both Battersea and New York. She has been shortlisted for Artists of the Year, 2019 by Artists and Illustrators Magazine, which will be held at the Mall Galleries, London 2016 The Art Academy, London, Postgraduate program 2009-2015 The Art Academy, London, Fine Art Diploma (part-time), (first-class) 1991–94 Manchester University, Manchester, BA Hons History of Art, (2:1).

At the Yacht Club
By Edward Cucuel
Located in Costa Mesa, CA
Artist Edward Cucuel and his wife Clara Lotte von Marcard spent their first two decades together in Germany, mostly in a villa on Lake Ammersee in Holzhausen near Munich. It is the works created in this period, mainly outdoor scenes of young women in fashionable attire of the day, that are most collected and appreciated among his works. It’s easy to see why- they capture an elegance and sense of calm and easy leisure- of long days in gardens or by the water. This is one of those captured moments with a well-dressed woman watching the sailing yacht...
