About the Item

An unusual early 19th century Georgian miniature lambing chair, finely constructed in the manner of a full-sized period chair and displaying particularly appealing small-scale proportions. The chair follows the traditional enclosed form associated with lambing chairs, translated into miniature scale with careful attention to its overall proportions and construction. Its diminutive size suggests that it may have been produced as an apprentice piece or furniture model, although this cannot be confirmed without further provenance. A fascinating example of early 19th century miniature furniture, particularly suitable for collectors of Georgian furniture, apprentice pieces, folk art and historic decorative objects. Presented in good antique condition with minor wear to the extremities. There is a small historic split to the upper left-hand side. Dimensions: Height: 33 cm (13 in) Width: 16.5 cm (6.5 in) Depth: 21.6 cm (8.5 in) Seat Depth: 15.2 cm (6 in) Weight: Approximately 1.5 kg (3.31 lb) Date of Manufacture: circa 1820 We ship tracked, worldwide.
